Today I am sharing a simple side dish recipe made with Soya Chunks (keema). It is very tasty to eat and very quick and easy to prepare. It goes well with Roti/Paratha/Naan/Luchi.

Ingredients –
1.Soya keema – 100 grams.
2.Tomato – 1 (chopped)
3.Onion – 1 (chopped)
4.Ginger paste – 1/2 tsp.
5.Garlic paste – 1/2 tsp.
6.Turmeric powder – 1/4 tsp.
7.Chilly powder – 1/4 tsp.
8.Cumin powder – 1/4 tsp.
9.Oil – 4 tbsp.
10.Salt to taste.
11.Sugar – a pinch.
12.Ghee – 1/2 tsp.
13 Garam masala powder – 1/2 tsp.
14.Green chilly – 2 (chopped)
15 Cumin seeds – 1/4 tsp.
16.Chopped coriander leaves – 2 tbsp.(optional)
Method –
1.Boil the soya keema with 1 tsp.of salt in 4 cups of water for 6 to 8 minutes. Using a strainer drain the water. Using normal water wash the boiled keema and squeeze to remove the water. Heat 2 tbsp. of oil in a non-stick frying pan, reduce the heat. Stir fry the boiled soya keema for 3 to 4 minutes. Remove pan from the heat,keep aside.
2.Grind tomato to a paste. To this add ginger-garlic paste, masala powders(turmeric,chilly,cumin) and 1/2 cup of water, mix well. Keep the masala mix aside.
3.Heat 2 tbsp. of oil in a frying pan,add cumin seeds. When the cumin looks brown,add onion and fry till brown. Add the masala mix, saute till oil separates. Add the soya keema,salt,sugar and 11/2 cups of hot water and mix well. Cook till all the water evaporates. Add ghee, garam masala powder and chopped green chilly and mix well. Remove pan from the heat, add coriander leaves, cover the pan and give 10 minutes standing time. Soya keema bharta is ready. Serve with Roti/Parata.
