Today I am sharing with you a very tasty snacks recipe made with potato. It is a budget friendly recipe, very simple to prepare and with few ingredients. You can make the dish anytime. It can be served as a tea time snacks or with rice-dal
Cooking time – 30 minutes Serve – 4
Ingredients –
1.Potato (large)-2
2.Garlic paste – 1/2 tsp
3.Ginger paste-1/2 tsp
4.Red chilly powder – 1/2 tsp.
5.Turmeric powder – 1/4 tsp.
6.Kalojeera (nigella seeds)- 1/2 tsp.
7.Gram flour(Beasn) – 1 cup.
8.Corn flour – 2 tbsp.
9.Baking soda – 1/4 tsp.
10. Salt to taste
11.White oil for deep frying
Instructions –
Take potatoes, peel the skin off and cut into small cubes. Using 1/2 tsp.of salt and 1 lit. of water boil the cubes for 3 minutes and transfer to a colander —–set aside. Take gram flour in a large mixing bowl. To this add corn flour,salt, ginger -garlic paste, chilly-turmeric powders, kalojeera and baking soda. Mix all the ingredients properly. Now add water little by little and make a semi-thick smooth batter. Add the potato cubes, mix with light hand.
Heat oil in a frying pan. When the oil is hot, reduce the heat. Group the cubes into 4 batches. Take one batch–drop the coated potato cubes (one by one) into the hot oil. Fry on slow heat till they turn golden in color from all sides. Increase the heat and take out the fried cubes with a slotted spoon and keep on paper towels. Again reduce the heat and start the 2nd batch.
Delicious potato snacks is ready——sprinkle black salt or you can serve with Ketchup.
