Happy Holi to all my Friends,
Today I am posting famous Indian sweet kalakand recipe. The way of making this sweet is very easy but it takes long time. I am sharing with you quick and easy to make kalakand recipe. You need only few minutes to prepare this beautiful sweet. To this recipe I used 50% sugar and 50% palm date jaggery. You can use 100% sugar instead palm date jaggery. Home made chana(cottage cheese) can be used for this recipe.
Cooking time – 25 minutes. Serve – 4
Ingredients –
- Cottage cheese/paneer/chana – 200 grams.(store bought)
- Powdered milk – 50 grams.
- Full fat milk – 1/2 cup.
- Date palm jaggery – 4 tbsp.
- Sugar – 4 tbsp.
- Ghee – 1/4 tsp.(for greasing)
- Chopped dry fruits —-for garnishing
Instructions –
In a large mixing bowl crumble the chana with hand.(Do not mash the chana very finely, just crumble lightly). To this add powdered milk, jaggery, sugar and full fat milk. Mix all the ingredients very well. Transfer the mixture in a heavy bottomed pan. Place the pan on slow heat. Cook the mixture for few minutes. Stir the mixture continuously so that it does not stick to the bottom of the pan. When the mixture gets thickened and just starts leaving the sides of the pan, remove from the heat. Do not over cook the mixture,it should have some moisture.
Grease a dish with ghee, pour the mixture and level it with a spoon/spatula. Allow to cool at room temperature and then keep in refrigerator for at least 30 minutes. Cut into squares and garnish with chopped dry fruits. Enjoy.
