Today I am posting a very quick and easy to make snacks recipe made with Idli. It is a healthy dish, non-spicy and tastes awesome. You need only few ingredients to make this beautiful dish. It is perfect dish for breakfast or can be served as evening snacks.
Cooking time – 15 minutes. Serve – 4
Ingredients –
1.Idli — 8 nos.
2.Mustard seeds– 1/2 tsp.
3.Onion (medium) – 1(finely chopped)
4.Tomato (large) – 1 (finely chopped)
5.Green chilly – 2 (chopped)
6.Curry leaves – 2 tbsp.
7.Turmeric powder – a pinch.
8.Salt to taste .
9.Sugar – a pinch.
10.Oil – 1 tbsp.
Instructions –
Cut the Idlis into pieces. Heat oil in a frying pan. When it is hot reduce the heat. Add mustard seeds, when it splutters add curry leaves and fry for 30 seconds. Add onion, fry till light brown. Add tomato,turmeric powder,salt and green chilly. Saute for 2 minutes on slow flame.Add 1/2 cup of water and sugar, allow to boil. Add the Idli pieces and mix gently. Cook on slow flame for 1 to 1-1/2 minutes.
Delicious healthy snacks Fried Idli is ready —- garnish with chopped green chilly and serve hot
