Today I am sharing with you a simple snacks recipe made with pumpkin. It is a tasty recipe,very quick and easy to prepare and with few ingredients. It can be served as a tea time snacks/as a appetizer or with rice and dal.
Cooking time – 30 minutes. Serve – 4
Ingredients –
- Pumpkin – 200 grams.
- Gram flour(besan)- 1/2 cup.
- Onion – 1
- Garlic cloves – 4
- Grated ginger – 1/2 tsp.
- Nigella seeds (kalonji)- 1/2 tsp.
- Turmeric powder – 1/2 tsp.
- Coriander powder – 1/2 tsp.
- Cumin powder – 1/2 tsp.
- Garam masala powder – 1/2 tsp.
- Green chilly – 4(finely chopped)
- Baking soda – 1 pinch
- Salt to taste
- Sugar – 1/4 tsp.
- White oil – for deep frying
Instructions –
Take the pumpkin ,peel the skin off and grate well by using a potato grater. Put the grated pumpkin to a grinder. To this add onion, garlic. Grind to a paste. Transfer the paste to a large mixing bowl. To this add ginger,nigella seeds,turmeric,coriander,cumin,garam masala,green chilly,salt,sugar and gram flour. Mix all the ingredients properly to make a paste. Sprinkle little water if needed. At last mix baking soda.
Heat enough oil in a frying pan, now reduce the heat. Make small balls with the paste and drop into the hot oil.For this you can use spoon. deep fry till golden brown. Increase the heat, take out the fried pakora with a slotted spoon,keep on paper towels. Fry 5 to 6 pakoras at a time. Again reduce the heat and start the next batch.
Delicious Pumpkin Pakora is ready. Serve hot with ketchup/chutney. Enjoy
