Today we are going to make an authentic Indian sweet dish – Shrikhand. It is one of the famous sweet dish in Maharastra & Gujrat, but very popular all over India. Shrikhand is a healthy sweet dish made of hung curd. Traditionally it is flavored with saffron and cardamom and garnished with fresh fruits or nuts. Today I am making traditional shrikhand with a little twist. I am going to make Chocolate Shrikhand, very tasty and simple to prepare.
Preparation time – 15 minutes. Serve – 4.
Ingredients –
1.Curd – 500 grams.
2.Powdered sugar – 50 grams or according to your taste.
3.Chocolate – 200 grams.
Hung curd – Put the curd in a strainer. Place a bowl under the strainer to collect the whey. Keep the curd with strainer and the bowl in a refrigerator for 3-4 hours or until use. Hung curd is ready.
Method –
1.Melt the chocolate in microwave or double boiler.[Double boiler – Put the chocolate in a pot and place the pot over a bowl of water.Boil the water on medium flame, stir the chocolate slowly. In a few minutes chocolate will melt]
2.Put the strained curd in a large bowl. Add sugar and melted chocolate,blend evenly. Transfer it to a bowl and refrigerate till cold.
Chocolate Shrikhand is ready. Serve it with fried snacks.
