Today I am sharing with you a very unique sweet – carrot patisapta recipe. Patisapta is a traditional Bengali sweet, stuffed with coconut or kheer (milk mawa). Now I am posting this recipe with a little twist. I have prepared patisapta stuffing with carrot .It is a very wonderful recipe, quick and easy to prepare. If you have left over carrot halwa in your home, you need little time to make this dish.
Cooking time 50 minutes. Serve – 4/5
Ingredients -(for the stuffing)
1.Carrot (grated) -1 bowl.
2.Milk – 2 cups.
3.Sugar 4 tbsp.
4.Ghee – 1 tbsp.
5.Chopped dry fruit –as per choice (it is optional)
Instructions –
Heat ghee in a pressure cooker. Add grated carrot. Stir for 3/4 minutes. Add milk and sugar. Stir well, over the cooker. On Medium flame give one whistle. Turn off the flame and allow to cool naturally. Open the lid, add dry fruits and cook till the liquid evaporates and the stuffing thicken, come to the perfect consistency. Take out from the heat, set aside.
Ingredients -(for the batter)
1..Flour (maida) – 1 cup
2.Semolina (suji) – 1 cup.
3. Date palm jaggery – 3/4 cup (liquid or shredded)
You can use sugar instead o jaggery.
4. Milk or water as per needed.
Instructions –
Add flour, semolina and jaggery in a large mixing bowl. Mix well. Add milk or water gradually and make a lump free semi thick batter(like pan cake batter). Cover the bowl and allow to rest for 10 minutes) , After 10 minutes stir the batter (probably you need to add little milk or water),
Heat a non stick frying pan, brush little oil .Pour one ladleful of batter on the pan, spread it in a circular motion. When the batter is dries up, put one tbsp. of stuffing and roll gently Wait for a few seconds and take out from the pan. Again brush the pan and repeat the same process..
