Beat The Heat With Raw Mango Soup/ Bengali Aam Jhol

Today I am sharing with you a simple but healthy dish recipe made with raw mango——-it is a soup from Bengali kitchen. It is a fantastic dish, very quick and easy to prepare and nutritious also.It has cooling effect on body and also helps the body remain hydrated.This summer season, try this beautiful dish.

Cooking time – 20 minutes.  Serve – 4

Ingredients-

  1. Raw mango – 300 /400 grams.
  2. Mustard seeds – 1 tsp.
  3. Turmeric powder – 1/4 tsp.
  4. Salt to taste.
  5. Sugar – 1 tsp. (Or as per taste)
  6. Oil – 1/2 tsp.

Take the mangoes, peel the skin off and discard the seeds. Cut the mangoes into pieces. Then soak in water for 10 minutes. Transfer to a colander.

Heat oil in a frying pan, add the mustard seeds. When mustard seeds splutter add the mango pieces, salt and turmeric powder. stir and saute for 2 minutes. Add 4 to 5 cups of water,sugar and salt. Cover the pan,cook for 7 to 8 minutes. You can add  extra water to make the dish more soupy.

Remove pan from  heat, let it cool completely. Healthy Raw Mango Soup is ready. Enjoy the summer with this nutritious dish.
