Today I am sharing with you a new recipe of Boal fish – Boal Fish In Lemon-Garlic Sauce. It is a delicious dish—non spicy and very quick and easy to prepare. The dish is nutritious, you need only few ingredients and 3 to 4 tbsp. of veg. oil. This awesome dish is goes well with Rice/Fried Rice/Pulao. But remember fry this fish with lid (the skin of the fish can be burst while frying).
Cooking time – 30 minutes. Serve – 4
- Boal fish – 4 pieces.
- Grated ginger – 1/2 tsp.
- Garlic cloves — 4 (finely chopped)
- Coriander powder – 1/2 tsp.
- Turmeric powder – 1/2 tsp.
- Green chilly – 4.
- Slit green chilly – 4
- Salt to taste
- Sugar -a pinch.
- Pepper powder – 1/4 tsp.
- Corn flour – 1 tsp.
- Lemon juice – 1 tbsp.
- White oil – 4 tbsp.
INSTRUCTIONS –
Wash the fish with lukewarm water, marinate with 1/4 tsp.of salt and a pinch of turmeric powder. Keep aside until use. Grind ginger and 4 green chilly into a paste. To this add 1/2 cup of water, coriander and turmeric powders. Mix well. Keep the masala mix aside.
Heat 3 tbsp.of oil in a frying pan, Fry the fish pieces till light brown on both sides. Take out from the oil , keep aside. Add the masala mix in the remaining oil. Saute till oil separates. Add 2 cups of water and little salt. Allow it to boil. Add the fried fish, cover the pan and cook for 5 to 6 minutes. Remove pan from the heat, keep aside.
Now make Lemon-Garlic sauce. Place a clean pan on heat. Add 1 tbsp. of oil. Add the chopped garlic, fry till light brown. Add 1 cup of water,lemon juice, little salt,sugar and pepper powder. Mix and boil for 2 to 3 minutes. Dissolve corn flour in 1/2 cup of water and add to the pan. Cook for 2 minutes. Remove the pan from heat. The sauce is ready.
Now place the pan with cooked fish on heat. Allow it to boil. Add the Lemon-Garlic sauce and slit green chilly. Mix gently. Cook for only 1 minute. Take out from heat,cover and give 10 minutes standing time.
Delicious Boal Fish dish is ready, serve with Rice/Fried Rice/Pulao. ENJOY
