Today we are going to make a delicious snack made with Capsicum.It is a very easy to make snacks recipe, very popular in India. It is a tea time snack and also perfect for parties.
Cooking time – 40 minutes Serve – 4
Ingredients – Capsicum (large) – 2
FOR THE STUFFING – 1.Garlic paste – 1/2 tsp.
2.Potato (large) – 1 (boiled)
3.Ginger paste – 1/2 tsp.
4.Chilly powder – 1/4 tsp.
5.Salt to taste
6.Sugar – a pinch.
7.Garam masala powder – 1/2 tsp.
8.Chopped coriander leaves – 2 tbsp. Keep
9.Lemon juice – 1 tsp.
Method –
1.Mash the potato (or grate) in a bowl. To this add all the ingredients for stuffing, mix well and keep aside.
2.Take capsicums, cut on tops and discard the seeds and membrane. Cut each capsicum into 4 equal parts (total 8). Take one part, put 1 tsp. of potato mixture and roll it and cover the stuffed capsicum roll with potato mixture. In this way make all capsicum rolls.Put the rolls in a tray.
For the batter –
1.Gram flour (Besan) – 200 grams.
2.Chilly powder – 1/2 tsp.
3.turmeric powder – 1/4 tsp.
4.Salt to taste.
5.Sugar – a pinch.
6.Baking soda – a pinch.
7.Card – 1 tsp.
8.Oil – 1 tbsp. And Oil for deep frying.
Method –
Put gram flour in a bowl. To this add all the ingredients for the batter, mix well. Add water to make a thick batter(like pakora batter). Beat the batter very well until fluffy.
Heat enough oil in a frying pan, when hot reduce the heat. Dip the stuffed capsicum rolls in the batter and drop into the hot oil, fry until brown on both sides. Fry 2 or 3 rolls at a time.
Remove the fried capsicum rolls with a slotted spoon,keep on paper towels.
Capsicum Pakora is ready to serve. Sprinkle pepper powder and serve hot with a cup of tea.
