Bengali Fish Recipe/Bata Fish Gray

Hi Friends,

Today I am sharing a traditional fish gravy recipe made with Bata mach. It is a winter special recipe made with flat beans and urad dal bori (beuli dal bori) It is a simple dish , very light and quick and easy to make.You need few ingredients for making this delicious dish.

Cooking time – 30 minutes.

Serve – 4

Ingredients

1.Fish – 4 nos.

2.Bori – 5/6 nos.

3.Potato – 1 (peeled and cut into 4pieces)

4.Flat beans (Sim) – 8/9 nos.

5.Tomato –1(finely chopped)

6.Slit green chilly –4

7.Coriender leaves (chopped) – one handful

8.Kalonji (kalojeera) – 1 tsp.

9.Tumeric pwd – 1 tsp

10.Cumin pwd – 1/2 tsp

11.Red chilly pwd — 1/2 tsp

12.Salt and oil – as per taste.

Instructions-

Wash the fish,marinate with 1/4 tsp.of salt and turmeric pwd. Heat oil in a frying pan and fry the fish till light brown on both sides. Take out from oil and keep aside. Now brown the bori and take out from oil, keep aside. Add flat beans,fry for 1 minute,take out and keep aside. Add kalonji in the the oil , fry for 30 seconds. Add potato ,fry for 3 to 4 minutes on medium flame.Add chopped tomato,saute for 1 minute. Add turmeric,cumin,,chilly pwds and 1/2 cup of water.Saute on medium flame till the raw smell of the masala go out. If needed add little water and saute for few minutes. Add 3 cups of water ,let it brings to boil. Add fish, bori,flat beans and salt. Cover the pan and cook for 7 to8 minutes . Now add chopped coriander and slit green chilly and cook for 1 minute.( If needed add little warm water)

Take out the pan from heat, cover and give 5 minutes standing time. tasty and healthy fish gravy is ready to serve.
